Sapphire Brown (ZEPHYR RED, SAPPHIRE BROWN, SAPHIR BROWN) is a Precambrian gneiss quarried at Kasipet/Warangal (Kazipet), Telangana (formerly Andhra Pradesh), India. DNSA #3135 (ZEPHYR RED = SAPPHIRE BROWN): Gneis, Präkambrium, Metamorphe Gesteine, coarse-grained, predominantly directionless. No quantitative data in DNSA. SC s4156 (Sapphire Brown Granite, Kazipet/Warangal): density 2715 kg/m3, compressive strength 163.1 MPa, flexural strength 14.2 MPa, water absorption 0.2-0.35%. Note: the nearby ZEPHYR BLUE (DNSA #3136, same quarry) is a distinct stone -- darker, layered orientation, different colour profile.
