Rosavel (also Rosa Patrizia, Rosa Vel Grueso) is a coarse-grained Carboniferous granite quarried at Padrenda in the Province of Ourense (Orense), Galicia, northwest Spain. The DNSA provides a full technical profile: density 2650 kg/m³, compressive 63 MPa, flexural 17.5 MPa, water absorption 0.7%. The compressive strength (63 MPa) is notably lower than typical granites — characteristic of some Galician granites with higher feldspar content and mild alteration. The stone is frost-resistant, acid-resistant, suitable for flooring, and polished finish is durable outdoors. SC source-5 incorrectly classifies the stone as limestone — DNSA granite classification overrides. Frequently used in Germany.
