Über Mondariz Crema Julia
Mondariz is a medium-to-coarse-grained, largely isotropic granite of Carboniferous age quarried in the Mondariz/Porriño area of Pontevedra province, Galicia, Spain. The stone is registered in DNSA as MONDARIZ (#1063) with trade aliases CREMA JULIA and GRANITO NO.3 — the input name 'Mondariz Crema Julia' combines two of these trade names for the same stone. DNSA provides a complete technical profile: density 2640 kg/m3, compressive strength 110 MPa, flexural strength 15.3 MPa, abrasion resistance 8.8 cm³/50cm² (1 by Italian norm), water absorption 0.3%. The stone is acid-resistant (within normal range) and frost-resistant, with polished finishes durable outdoors — making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications. It is a granite from the same Galician quarrying district as the better-known Porriño grey granite, offering a lighter cream-toned alternative.
