Über Verde Gloria

Verde Gloria (DNSA Stein 746) is a Cretaceous metamorphic serpentinite quarried near Karditsa in Thessaly, Greece. It has a deep green colour with a distinctive brecciated or nodular structure. DNSA reports it as widely available and frequently used in Germany. Note: SC lists a 'Verde Gloria Granite' (s3006) from Bahia, Brazil — this is a different stone (a Brazilian green granite, also sold as Verde Bahia) that shares the trade name in some export markets. This record covers only the Greek serpentinite. Technical data is limited: only density 2800 kg/m³ is available from SC sources; DNSA Stein 746 contains no numeric technical data.
