Über Salisbury Pink
Salisbury Pink is an American Precambrian granite quarried in the Salisbury and Charlotte area of west-central North Carolina, USA. The stone is a medium-grained, mostly directionless plutonic granite with a pink colour and brown/grey accents. It is known under several commercial aliases in the US market: Camelia Pink, Bethel Pink, and Carolina Pink. Technical data from DNSA 2553: density 2675 kg/m³, compressive strength 153.2 MPa, flexural strength 13.48 MPa, water absorption 0.17%. Properties: acid-resistant, frost-resistant, polish durable outdoors, suitable for flooring. Note: SC s3777 (Salisbury Pink Granite, USA) reports higher compressive strength (248.82 MPa) — this discrepancy vs DNSA likely reflects different test standards (ASTM vs DIN). A Chinese copy stone marketed as 'China Salisbury Pink' or 'Guangdong Salisbury Pink' is produced in Guangdong/Hubei and is a different stone entirely.
