Nivatus Extra is a commercial grade designation within the Pirgon Nivatus marble family quarried in Pirgon, Drama Prefecture, northern Greece. SC source-3 (Pirgon Nivatus Marble, s21328) provides technical data: density 2820 kg/m³, compressive strength 98.5 MPa, flexural strength 6.3 MPa, water absorption 0.4%. The flexural strength of 6.3 MPa is notably low compared to most commercial marbles (typical: 15–25 MPa), indicating fragility under bending loads — care should be taken with large-format or cantilevered applications. WA at 0.4% is moderate. As a carbonate marble the stone is acid-sensitive. No DNSA entry was found. The stone is marketed for wall and floor applications, countertops, and decorative work.
