Nero Assoluto India, also known as CN Black, India Black, Absolute Black Granite, and Chamrajnagar Black, is a deep-black gabbro quarried near Chamarajanagar, south of Mysore in Karnataka, India. Despite the commercial "granite" designation, DNSA classifies it as gabbro (intrusive mafic igneous rock), which is typical for the very dark, fine-grained black stones sold as absolute black in the European market. The stone is Precambrian in age and has an isotropic (directionless) structure giving uniform black colour with no visible veining. Technical data: density 2960 kg/m3, compressive strength 312.74 MPa, flexural strength 21.19 MPa, water absorption 0.04-0.15%. The "OR" suffix in the input name likely refers to a surface finish code (Oberfläche Roh = raw/unpolished) in the German trade, not part of the stone name.
