Über Marinace Verde
Marinace Verde (VERDE MARINACE, VERDE AMAZONIA) is a Precambrian sedimentary conglomerate/breccia (Grobklastit) quarried at Morpara, west of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Its striking appearance -- large rounded dark pebbles set in a lighter green matrix -- makes it one of the most visually distinctive Brazilian stones, frequently sold under the generic 'granite' label despite its sedimentary origin. DNSA #4677: density 2760 kg/m3, compressive strength 257 MPa (frost 246 MPa), flexural strength 26.0 MPa, water absorption 0.04%, porosity 0.10%, abrasion 0.20 cm3/50cm2, thermal expansion 0.81 mm/m/100K. Excellent technical properties: acid-resistant, frost-resistant, polish durable outdoors, suitable for flooring. The Verde (green) variant is distinct from Marinace Nero (black) and Marinace Rosso (red).
