Blue Jeans (DNSA Stein 6423) is a Listwaenite — a metasomatic carbonate rock — quarried at Narman/Erzurum in northeastern Turkey. The stone exhibits a characteristic veined blue coloration and is sold commercially under the 'marble' category, though its petrographic classification is sedimentary Listwaenite. It is acid-sensitive (carbonate composition), polish-durable indoors but not outdoors, and suitable as flooring without reaching the abrasion resistance of true hard rocks. Density is 2,850 kg/m³. Trade name 'Blue Jeans' is also applied to unrelated stones from Afghanistan and Brazil; this record covers the Turkish stone only.
