Über Khazana

Cappuccino (DNSA Stein 6353), also sold as Khazana, is a banded Kieselschiefer (chert/siliceous rock) quarried in Rajasthan, India. Despite the commercial 'marble' designation, DNSA correctly classifies it as a sedimentary siliceous rock. SC describes the stone as having an earthy greenish-grey to olive background with creamy beige and pale taupe mineral bands showing strong layered movement. StoneContact data (Khazana Marble, s26595): density 2650-2720 kg/m3, compressive strength 110-120 MPa, flexural strength 10-16 MPa, water absorption 0.20-0.40%. DNSA records it as available and occasionally used in Germany.
