Estremoz Rosa Do Monte (DNSA Stein 2562, trade names ESTREMOZ SCURO, MONTE DEL REI, ROSA PORTOGALLO) is a Cambrian marble from the Vila Vicosa quarries in the Estremoz marble belt, Alentejo, Portugal. Fine- to medium-grained, brecciated structure. One of the classical Portuguese marbles widely used across Europe. Technical data from DNSA: density 2720 kg/m3, compressive strength 70.2 MPa (78.0 MPa after frost), flexural strength 18.2 MPa, water absorption 0.10%, porosity 0.25%, abrasion 1.6 mm (Italian norm). Polish holds indoors but not outdoors. Acid-sensitive (calcite marble). Probably frost-resistant based on low WA and positive frost compressive test.
