Barroca, also known as Barrocal, is a medium-grained, isotropic granodiorite quarried near Senhora da Tourega in the Barrocal area of Évora, Portugal (Carboniferous). DNSA (Stein 3231) provides comprehensive technical data and lists aliases "Cinza Évora", "Cinzento Évora", and "Branco Preto do Barrocal" — all confirmed by StoneContact entries s9931 and s2489 with consistent properties. Technical profile: density 2660 kg/m3, compressive strength 113.8 MPa (122 MPa after frost), flexural strength 17 MPa, water absorption 0.16%, thermal expansion 0.79 mm/m/100K. Acid and frost resistant; polished finish durable in exterior applications. Queue group "Serpentinite" is incorrect — the stone is a granodiorite (plutonic). SC s8381 "Barroca Soapstone" (Brazil) is an unrelated stone excluded from this record.
