Über Artic Green

The trade name 'Arctic Green' (also spelled 'Artic Green' and 'Arktik Green') refers to two different Norwegian natural stones registered separately in the DNSA. Stein 681 is a Precambrian syenite quarried at Lödingen, Lofoten Islands, described as medium-grained and largely isotropic — this is the more commonly traded Arctic Green, available and frequently used in Germany per DNSA. Stein 5788 is a metamorphic marble quarried at Lövgavlen/Fauske, Nordland, described as 'in production but rarely used in Germany'. Both carry the trade names ARCTIC GREEN and ARTIC GREEN. The technical data available (density 2760 kg/m³, compressive strength 118 MPa, flexural strength 11.9 MPa, WA 0.12%) comes exclusively from Stein 5788 (the Fauske marble) and may not reflect the Lofoten syenite's properties. The input group 'Hard Rock' aligns more naturally with the syenite. Both are Precambrian age.
