Über Sandy Creek

Sandy Creek (also sold as Sandy Creek Limestone and Sandy Creek Marble) is a beige sedimentary limestone quarried in Egypt. SC provides the primary structured data: density 2628 kg/m³, compressive strength ~136.5 MPa (19800 psi), flexural strength ~13.1 MPa (1900 psi), WA 0.89%. The stone is a soft, porous limestone typical of Egyptian commercial export material — suitable for interior applications and exterior cladding with appropriate sealing. The name 'Sandy Creek' is also used for an unrelated Wisconsin (USA) silica-cemented sandstone/quartzite from Mosinee, Marathon County; that stone is a different material and is NOT covered by this record.
