Jacaranda Bahia (also known as Rosso Tigrato, Bahia Flame, Flamenco, and Red Vitoria) is a fine-to-medium-grained Precambrian gneiss quarried at Fazenda Candeal near Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil. The stone has a characteristic reddish to burgundy coloration with a layered, directionally oriented structure that creates a flame-like or banded visual effect. DNSA (Stein 3790) provides a complete technical profile: density 2670 kg/m³, compressive strength 170 MPa (post-frost 157 MPa), flexural strength 18.9 MPa, water absorption 0.09%, porosity 0.24%, abrasion resistance 0.7 (Italian norm). The stone is acid-resistant within normal range and fully frost-resistant, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications including flooring, cladding, stairs, and countertops. Polish durability is confirmed as permanent for outdoor use.
