Über Multicolor Rosso
Multicolor Rosso (SC s379: Multicolor Red Granite, Kanakapura/Bangalore/Karnataka, India) is a widely traded Indian granite quarried near Kanakapura, Bangalore district, Karnataka. Deep red to burgundy base with characteristic multicolored mineral speckles and veins in black, grey, and brown tones -- hence the name "Multicolor Red/Rosso". Composed of quartz, feldspar, and mica; igneous in origin. Input materialgroup "Marble" is incorrect -- petrography is granite. No DNSA entry (expected for Indian granite). SC s379 tech data: density 2622-2700 kg/m3, compressive 147-208 MPa, flexural 16.5 MPa, water 0.2-0.3%. Acid-resistant (silicate granite). Interior and exterior applications.
