Laguna Black (also Alconera Black Marble) is a black marble quarried at Alconera, Badajoz province, Extremadura, Spain. Deep black to jet-black with subtle white veining, similar in appearance to Nero Marquina from the Basque Country. SC s26420 (Laguna Black Marble, Alconera/Badajoz) provides full technical data: density 2730 kg/m3, compressive strength 148 MPa, flexural strength 17.8 MPa, water absorption 0.1%. Note: DNSA matched VERDE POLCEVERE (VERDE LAGUNA), a green serpentinite from Liguria, Italy -- this is a completely different stone and was excluded. The correct identity is SC s26420 (Laguna Black Marble = Alconera Black, Spain). Wide range of surface finishes available. Interior and exterior applications.
