Caribbean Blue (Kyanitkvartsit, Hälsjöberg) is a Precambrian kyanite quartzite from Hälsjöberg/Karebol, Karlstad, Värmland, Sweden -- a distinctive blue metamorphic stone coloured by 20-40% kyanite (disthen), occasionally used in Germany.

Über Caribbean Blue

Caribbean Blue (CARIBBEAN BLUE, AZUL CARIBBEAN QUARTZITE, KYANITKVARTSIT, HALSJOBERG KYANITKVARTSITBROTT) is a Precambrian kyanite quartzite quarried at Hälsjöberg/Karebol, Karlstad, Värmland, Sweden. DNSA #4265/#4266 (two entries, identical data): Quarzit, Präkambrium, Metamorphe Gesteine. Mineral composition: quartz 55-70%, kyanite (Disthen) 20-40%. The high kyanite content is the source of the distinctive blue colour. SC s3052: density 2650 kg/m3. No quantitative strength data in any source. Irregularly clouded structure (unregelmäßig gewolkt). Occasionally used in Germany.
