Bianco Sivec Extra is the extra (premium) quality grade of Sivec marble, quarried at Sivec near Prilep in North Macedonia. Sivec is one of the most valued white marbles in the Balkan region, notable for its exceptionally high density (2840 kg/m3) relative to typical calcite marbles -- suggesting significant dolomite content similar to Thassos. The stone is Precambrian in age, fine-grained, and largely isotropic. The 'Extra' designation indicates the highest grade with minimal veining and maximum whiteness. Technical data (DNSA #1094): density 2840, compressive strength 141 MPa, flexural strength 9.6 MPa, water absorption 0.35%. The relatively high water absorption and low flexural strength are typical for high-density dolomitic marbles. Polishing durability is limited to interior use; acid-sensitive; frost-resistant.
